12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

I know what it's like to be in need. Though more often it would be accurate to say I know what it's like to be in "GREED". The Lord has provided me with PLENTY. I really have so much and I am so blessed. I sit here in my air conditioned living room with coffee and a full belly. I have two healthy sleeping children upstairs. I have a beautiful wife that loves the Lord and loves me. I have a job. My wife has a job. We have two cars outside to take us to those jobs. There are no gangs roving outside my home waiting to kill me.

Yet all of those thing pale in comparison to the Salvation that Christ has provided. Should everything above be taken away I can still be content if I rely on Christ. He can get me through anything.

Time to get my eyes off "stuff" and get my eyes on Him. THAT is the secret of being content in every situation.
