I Surender All Originally posted on Sunday July 18, at 8:58am

Music is a huge part of my life. My parents sang in the choir growing up and for a while I sang in the choir with them. I remember growing up with the "Bill Gather Trio Especially for Children...of all ages" record playing all the time. So it comes as no surprise to me that God uses music to move me toward Him.

Saturday morning I was whistling or humming or singing, but mostly likely a combination of all the above (tend to forget the lyrics) the song I Surrender All. The Holy Spirit prodded me. "Do you really mean it?", was the thought that went through my head. See the first verse and refrain below.
All to Jesus I surrender;
all to him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust him,
in his presence daily live.
Refrain:
I surrender all,
I surrender all, all to thee,
my blessed Savior,
I surrender all.

I won't get into details and air my dirty laundry here on the fb. Let's just they there are some things I was holding back. Willful disobedience that had to be dealt with.

I'll include the rest of the hymn. Read it and ask yourself, "What am I holding back.?"

2. All to Jesus I surrender;
humbly at his feet I bow,
worldly pleasures all forsaken;
take me, Jesus, take me now.
(Refrain)

3. All to Jesus I surrender;
make me, Savior, wholly thine;
fill me with thy love and power;
truly know that thou art mine.
(Refrain)

4. All to Jesus I surrender;
Lord, I give myself to thee;
fill me with thy love and power;
let thy blessing fall on me.
(Refrain)

5. All to Jesus I surrender;
now I feel the sacred flame.
O the joy of full salvation!
Glory, glory, to his name!
(Refrain)
