Jesus loved us as the Father loved us. His Father sent him to die and He willingly did so. There is no greater love than to die for another. Only if I keep his commands will I love him.
I don't obey God in everything. I pick and chose. Could this be the answer I've been looking for?

Christ is my source of power. It is only through him that I can succeed. If I unplug this computer it will run on battery for a while, but even that power comes from the source. When I ignore God I can function, but only for a while.

“Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.24 Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.
Dear God. Teach me to love your Son. My entire life I have obeyed from fear of punishment. Help me make my motivation one of love.

Jesus predicts who would betray him and even then the disciples were so thick they did not get it. Yet what a I? I KNOW who Jesus is. I KNOW what he wants of me. Yet I'm so thick and full of willful sin that I don't do what he requires.

The washing of feet in Jewish culture was for the lowest of the low. Even in our culture most people find feet gross. Yet Jesus, being fully aware of His deity, washed the feet of his disciples. All of them. Even the one whom he knew was going to betray him.
I have to let Jesus wash me. I also have to be a servant. To everyone.

God hardened some of their hearts. Oh that I don't get to the point where mine is so hard I know longer make the right choices.
Many believed, but they allowed fear of man to hold them back. MY LIFE.
Jesus is my Savior. God will be my judge if I chose to ignore Jesus words.
