1 Corinthians 1:1-9

1 Corinthians 1:1-9
Paul, called to be an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and our brother Sosthenes,
To the church of God in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be holy, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ—their Lord and ours:
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

The author is Paul and I am one of it's intended recipients.  No, Paul was not all knowing and did not have me personally in mind, but I am "sanctified in Christ Jesus".  If you have accepted Christ, then this letter is for you as well.

"Grace and peace from God our Father",  I need that today.  All Christians everywhere need that every day.

I always thank God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus.

Take time to notice what God has done in the lives of others and thank God for the grace he has granted them to grow in Him.

For in him you have been enriched in every way—in all your speaking and in all your knowledge— because our testimony about Christ was confirmed in you.

As a child of God do we believe this and live "enriched in every way"?  When people hear us speak is it a confirmation of our love and life for Christ or our we too busy talking about TV, sports, movies and politics that we forget that GOD is our only mission here on earth?   I must confess I too often forget who I am in Christ.

Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed.

Do you know what your spiritual gift is?  Are you using it?  Are we eager for Christ to be revealed?  Take a serious look at your plans for today.  Where is Christ revealed in what you have planed?  What if he shows up today?  Are you ready?  I'm not.

He will keep you strong to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful.

God is faithful, and we must rely on Him.  He will keep us strong so that we will be blameless.  It is not anything that we do.

I will close with Paul's words.  "Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ."
