Ephesians 1:1-14

It's been a while. I have not posted since Good Friday.  My apologies to those who counted on my posts.  I'm back.

Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God,
To God’s holy people in Ephesus, the faithful in Christ Jesus:

What a wonderful thing to come to the point in ones walk with Christ to know who you are and why you are there. The understand that what you are doing is by the will of God.

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

I hear on movies and read in books the people cry out for justice.  I am grateful for grace.  I have been forgiven so much that forgiving others has become very easy for me.  It is God grace that brought me through the trial of my divorce.  I have God's peace now that I have come out the other side.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.

We have everything in Christ.  We will have to wait for some of it, but it is ours all the same.

For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will—  to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.

This is a truth that humbles me.  Before there was anything, God chose me.  It was not a random act.  The choice was part of his PLEASURE and WILL.  This is that grace I crave.  I am His son through His Son Jesus Christ.  I was not a cosmic accident.  I was a divine choice.

In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us.

He lavished his grace on us.  He did not look at some spiritual cookbook and measure out the exactly amount of grace need for me.  He just poured it on.

With all wisdom and understanding, he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, 10 to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment —to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.

He knew what he was doing.  I know when I go through trials I sometimes question God.  But this He did on purpose, for His pleasure and in His timing.  Why?  To bring all thing under Christ. It's not about me, it's about God's glory and His plan of redemption.

11 In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, 12 in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory.

The apostles were the first to believe.

13 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.

This is me.  This is anyone who heard the word of the apostles and believed.  I know I have the Spirit because he never lets me stray too far from God.  With all the stuff I went through this past month and some of the bad choices I made, I was never able to just walk away.  Praise God.

God Bless.
