Hebrews 3:1-6

Hebrews 3:1-6
Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our apostle and high priest.  He was faithful to the one who appointed him, just as Moses was faithful in all God’s house.

I so needed this today.  Once again my land lady is saying one thing, I make plans, and then she changes her mind.  The battle for being grateful for vs being bitter has battled since last night.  I'm taking my thoughts off my situation and fixing them on Jesus.  He is faithful.  He is not going to change his mind.

Jesus has been found worthy of greater honor than Moses, just as the builder of a house has greater honor than the house itself. For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything.  “Moses was faithful as a servant in all God’s house,” bearing witness to what would be spoken by God in the future. But Christ is faithful as the Son over God’s house.

Jesus' honor is greater than that of Moses. Jesus position is higher than Moses. As God's Son, he is the head of God's house and Moses was a servant.  Once again we see that Jesus is greater than Moses.  This book of Hebrews is written to Jews.  The author (believed to be Paul) is showing the Jesus is superior in every way.

And we are his house, if indeed we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope in which we glory.

We are God's house or his building project.  What a privileged position we hold to be worked on by God himself.

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers and sisters. Amen.
